Impromptu trip to Naples, Florida!

Ryan is going into Hospital Administration when he graduates in April and one of the companies that is currently recruiting him flew him and I to Florida to meet the Leadership. It was the first time we had left Luke and we did totally fine :) We felt like we were on a 4 day date! They put us in a Hilton in Naples which is an AMAZING little city right on the beach. Highlights included tons of great restaurants overlooking the water, going to the Philharmonic Orchestra, and running along the beach.

Thanksgiving 2011

I know I'm a bit behind but I'm going to try to catch up:)

For Thanksgiving dinner we went down to St. George and ate at the Entrada Golf Club with my family. It was great to be in warm weather. We went on lots of hikes around the beautiful red rock. Talmage also completed his first 1k at BYU before we left! He (along with all the other kids) thought he won (he was close to last) but we let it slide.

Octoberfest

We had a great month celebrating halloween and running the provo halloween half-marathon with a bunch of our friends. Ryan and I ran the whole way together in 1 hour 50 minutes (a 8:15 mile) and had an absolute blast. My dad was awesome and handed us food and drinks at a couple checkpoints along the race. Ry is officially a runner now so we have lots of fun being able to do it together now.

Halloween was awesome with our 5 halloween parties. The highlight was a Halloween program at Talmage's school- he was so cute doing his "Scary march" and dance. He picked the costumes this year- insisted we all be cowboys. He still wears his almost daily but Ry and I put ours away.

My baby is one!

Luke turned one on October 19th and we had a blast celebrating it. We took him on a lunch date to Macaroni Grill- (he loves pasta). This is where he also had his first sucker. Then we had a party halloween-themed party at Momentum Climbing Gym. He really enjoyed running all over the mats. Luke has been such a delight to have in our family and we just adore him to pieces. Happy birthday little guy!

The gross stuff mom's have to do

K so I figured I should document this before I forget it. The other day I gave Luke some hot pink tylenol (teething) and immediately after he had about 8 oz of milk (yea I know, wasn't my best idea). He was playing in the kitchen while I was doing the dishes but he kept coughing- I think he found something on the floor (the kid puts ANYTHING in his mouth). So I pick him up and start burping him to make sure he didn't need to get anything up. About 5 seconds later he threw up hot pink liquid ALL over me, him, my beige rug, and our wood floor. I took him over to the sink, sat him on the counter and took his clothes off, washed his face and arms, grabbed paper towels to wipe off the wood floor and put a huge towel over the rug. I set him down so I could go in the laundry room and get my throw-up drenched clothes off (soaked through 2 layers!) Put them in the washing machine and came back in the family room (in my underwear) to find Luke buck-naked with a messy diaper next to him and rubbing his butt all over the wood floor and giggling. I didn't even know he could get his diaper off, let alone be that gross. So, now there is you-know-what on the floor next to the hot pink throw up. I took him upstairs and put him in the bath while I changed, attempted to get the throw up out of my hair, and then I proceeded to start the cleanup. This was of course during my "quiet time" when Talmage is at preschool and I was planning on getting all kinds of great things done. I couldn't even be mad because it was such a classic mom story, I think us mom's are double blessed on days like this.

Fall Happenings

Some highlights of things we have done lately are:
1- Went to the Relief Society General Broadcast- it is such a beautiful building and there is such a neat spirit there, I love hearing it live
2- The boys (and I) love to go bowling. Talmage and I are usually pretty close in score (he has bumpers though, I don't) so we get competitive. Luke insists on holding a ball the whole time but isn't very good at it.
3-My mom took me to Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat for my bday (it was so good and soooo fun)
4- We have been throughly enjoying the BYU Football season. The MBA wives had shirts made so we sport them to every game. We have a catered tailgate party for all the homegames. They are also our shirts for our soccer and flag football teams.
5- Celebrated my best friend Jen's bday w/ a workout, farmers market, and dinner at Carabbas

As for us, Talmage is doing great in pre-school, Luke is walking all over the place now, I'm running two businesses from home, and Ry is in his last year of MBA school. I love doing personal training and my ebay store, and Ryan is still doing amazingly well in school. He has 18 credits, straight A's, workouts daily, and is home most of the time. We are nice and busy but we always seem to have lots of playtime (hoping that never ends). Ry and I (along with a bunch of friends) are running the Provo Halloween Half Marathon next weekend so we are really excited for that. We have had a blast on the training runs- turns out running dates can be a lot of fun :) and it has been so fun for me to watch my husband FINALLY develop a love for running! There is no energy drink that can match a runner's high! I will post pics of us all running in cowboy costumes next weekend....wish us luck!
