Our Little Fish

We put Talmage in some swim lessons so he will be water safe and he did great! He can swim and float on his back no matter how he is thrown in the pool, even if he has all his shoes and clothes on. It's pretty amazing! He even got a trophy for his mad skills. I have some sweet video but for some reason I can't ever upload video here...is it a mac thing?? Hmm. Maybe someday I will figure it out...

Baby #2!

I am a 13 weeks pregnant and sooo glad to be out of the first nausea ridden trimester! Here is a pic of our little peanut. Can't wait to find out what it is! We are so excited for Talmage to have a little brother/sister! My due date is October 20th :)

Talmage Turns 2!

For Talmage's 2nd birthday we took him to Disneyland! He had the time of his little life. He was soooo excited to meet Mickey and wanted to follow him around all day. Because he's so tall he also made the height restrictions on a lot of the rides so he did his first roller coaster and every other ride he could and had a blast. He even got a special birthday cake in a treasure chest and the whole restaurant sang to him. Talmage also loved the Playhouse Disney show at California Adventure, he was dancing and clapping the whole time. Disney rocks. At the hotel he pushed our luggage cart the whole way to the room and loved the kids suite with bunk beds, he's a climber! Happy birthday litttle man, we love you so much!

Sleeping in an Airport

Ry and I went to Texas for his SMU and UT-Austin MBA school interviews (Ry's mom watched Talmage for us...thank you Julie) and on the way back our flight was delayed, and delayed, and delayed some more, and then canceled. We were in the airport from 4pm to 8am the next morning. Around 2:30 we got some cots and blankets that were graciously provided for us by the Austin Airport and went and found our self a cozy corner of the airport to make our bedroom. We woke up around 5 with hundreds of people all around us checking in for their flights but I was so tired I didn't care and went back to sleep until 6. The most awkward though was when I got up and had to walk to the bathroom and weave through all these people that saw I just rolled out of bed... I was like "good morning.." It was pretty hilarious, and I'm sure the American Airlines and Southwest people were wondering why we were sleeping there. We got back home though, after being flown to San Diego and renting a car to Las Vegas (all flights were full for 2 days!), but, got back to see our little boy that we missed so much. And no compensation was provided. Moral of the story? Never trust a delayed flight.

Fun In the Kind-of-Cold Sun

When I was little my mom towed my little brother and I everywhere in a bike cart and we loved it. So Ry and I decided to buy one so we can continue biking with the little munchkin, and I now have even more respect for my mom (2 big kids and groceries???) no wonder she was always so skinny! The only problem with Talmage is when we stop.."again..again..more ride" it's pretty cute.

We went to the Children's Science Museum in Las Vegas and Talmage of course had lots of fun messing with everything!

Wind Tunnel, it was pretty cool!

Zion's National Park

We braved the cold weather and went to Zion's with my brother and his family and it was super fun. The trails were a bit snowy and muddy but Talmage hiked pretty much the whole time on his own and loved trying to keep up with his cousins!

Hiking around St. George!

G&G Christensen came up for a day visit so we took advantage of the sweet places to explore around St. George. Talmage is quite the little hiker, he just runs and runs and says "hike in mountains, up, up, up!" Needless to say he sleeps very well when we get home.

Toddler in a Tent

So Talmage discovered the art of climbing out of his pack-n-play and absolutely will not fall asleep unless contained (the floor of his room did not work, he just plays and plays). So after several days of no naps and some really rough nights (mostly for me- I need my sleep!) I went to Walmart and bought a tent. He was a little confused the first few nights but now he actually loves it and gets excited to "go in his tent and go to sleep!" Not sure if it is great parenting to have your child sleeping in a $19 tent on the floor of their room but sure is working great and we are all getting lots of sleep again!!

P.S. We moved to my parents vacation house in St. George, UT while we are waiting to go to MBA school. We are loving it, it is on a golf course with lots of fun ammenities. We are probably the youngest people here but thats okay with us :)

Merry Christmas!

Christmas was a blast! We were in Vegas with Ryan's family and did all sorts of fun activities. Highlights were the Shark Reef Aquarium, playing a tennis tournament, going to King Arthur's tournament, and the kids acting out the nativity. Thanks to everyone for the funnest week of the year!!

Ry and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary on December 20th w/ Bennihana's, a concert, and a night at the Mandalay Bay, it was super fun, thanks rybo, love you!!!
